In the framework of a OSIRIS EC-FP6 project VITO have developed an automatic processing chain allowing to produce in near real-time mosaic images from video streams. The images were roughly geo-localized (using only GPS data) and were available via OGC compatible web-services (WMS/WCS and CWS).

The complete chain was demonstrated during a live demonstration focusing on forest fires in South of France. An example of mosaic images (two tracks of 15 sec. video film) projected in Google Earth is shown here below.
