Some City information
Antwerp, daughter of the River Scheldt and second largest
city of Belgium is called the 'Metropolis' by its 500.000
inhabitants. It hosts the second largest harbor of Europe
and is a splendid city with numerous architectural highlights,
most of which date from the 16th and the 17th century. The
past is also represented by the numerous paintings of Peter
Paul Rubens who lived in Antwerp in the early 17th century.
Its diamond district close to the Railway Station gives the
city a special flair. Nowadays, Antwerp has earned a place
among the fashion cities of the world thanks to the efforts
of numerous young Flemish fashion designers. More information
on Antwerp, the City of Rubens, diamond, culture, fashion,
water and gastronomy can be found on http://www.antwerpen.be
or http://www.visitantwerpen.be/indexuk.html.
This site also provides info on hotels and bed&breakfast
facilities.
