TRAVEL INFO
By plane
The International Airport of Brussels is located
about 60 km from Antwerp. There are connections to several
European cities and also international flights from all continents.
There are train connections from Brussels Airport to Antwerp
via Brussels. There are going trains from Brussels Airport
to Brussels North/Centre/South every 15 to 20 minutes. From
Brussels North/Centre/South there are going trains to Antwerp
Central every 10 to 15 minutes. Transfer should be made at
the station of Brussels North. Total travel time from Brussels
Airport to Antwerp is about 1 hour.
There is also a local Antwerp Airport located
about 5 km from Antwerp. Only a few connections with European
cities are made.
By train
There are international train connections to Brussels
with the Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg, United
Kingdom, Switzerland and Italy. There are also direct international
train connections from Antwerp to the Netherlands.

By car
Road works at the ring in Antwerp are completed since
end 2005, so traffic jams are as usual during rush-hours.

By tram
From the ASTRID PARK PLAZA HOTEL to the PROVINCIEHUIS (Conference
venue) :
Go to the Central Railway Station in front of the Astrid
Park Plaza Hotel
Go downstairs (to the rails), follow “METRO”
You will arrive at the pre-metro station “DIAMANT”
Take tramline 2 direction “HOBOKEN”
1st stop is “PLANTIN”
2nd stop is “NERVIERSSTRAAT”
3rd stop is "LANGE LEEMSTRAAT”
4th stop is “HARMONIE”
5th stop is “PROVINCIEHUIS”. Get off the tram
here!
Go to the right and take the street on your left hand side
(Elisabethlei).
The “Provinciehuis” is the big building on your
left hand side
To go back to ASTRID PARK PLAZA hotel :
Go to the tram stop “PROVINCIEHUIS” in front
of the Provinciehuis
(is not the stop where you arrived!)
Take there tramline 2 direction “LINKEROEVER”
1st stop is “HARMONIE”
2nd stop is “LANGE LEEMSTRAAT”
3rd stop is “NERVIERSSTRAAT”
4th stop is “PLANTIN”
5th stop is “DIAMANT”. Get off the tram here!
Go upstairs follow direction “ASTRIDPLEIN”
(you need to go back up the stairs)
You will see the Astrid Park Plaza hotel again at your right
hand side.
